The defending World Twenty20 Cricket champs India were knocked out of the tournament by England yesterday. The 2009 tournament is being held in England and India needed to win in order to still be in the running after they were thrashed by the West Indies late last week.
Their dismal, lazy performance in the field was aggravated by the obvious inability to handle shorter deliveries by the Indian opening batsmen – considering that this weakness was uncovered during the West Indies match, one would have thought at least some effort would be taken to overcome it in yesterday’s game.
Apparently, the Indian team has yet to be informed that cricket is a great spectator sport but NOT for players while they’re playing the game!
