Education in South Africa

The Amazing Matric Pass Rate of South Africa

Wonkie loves this time of the year. The education department is gushing with self-praise about the amazing year-on-year 7%-plus increase in the matric pass rate in South Africa. University educators are whingeing about the relatively low quality of high school graduates and the general public is perplexed about why these amazing pass rate statistics are not resulting in significant economic upliftment.

Respect given where it is due for Angie Motshekga in that addressing the education challenge in South Africa is no walk in the park. Using meaningless measures that make government look (relatively) good however is not an appropriate way forward. Education is the foundation of economic development and sustainable change from the apartheid era. South Africa currently requires some proper metrics and serious quality control in this area for it to start making a real impact. Below are some of the facts that are interesting to consider:

Matric Pass Rate South Africa graph

As per the Department of Education guidelines, what matrics need to pass is the following:

  • 30% in mathematical literacy or mathematics
  • 40% in life orientation
  • 40% in one of the compulsory official languages at home language level
  • 30% in the other required official language on, at least, first additional language level
  • 40% in one of the remaining three subjects, and at least 30% in two others

Consider the above in conjunction with the Human Resources Research Council’s statement late last year:

“Less than 50 percent of all matriculants will not hold a formal job before they celebrate their 24th birthday”

Wonkie wonders what the Department of Education has in mind in terms of job prospects for the huge numbers that pass matric with a whopping final result of 31%. With only 30% required for mathematical literacy, perhaps a store can hire 3 students for a single cashier’s job: one to do multiplication, one to do division and the really bright one can do both addition and substraction – Voila! Two additional jobs created with the increased matric pass rate.

Two years ago Wonkie published an article on the outcome-based education disaster in South Africa. Since then, it appears that the government has changed its focus from dumping first world concepts into a third world environment. Unfortunately, they do not appear to have done so in favour of doing the math and getting the basics right. Instead, they appear to have focused on playing with numbers. Hopefully it will not be too much longer before they realise that there is little correlation between fiddling with pass rate statistics, job creation, employability and economic upliftment.

  1. Amazing, Teachers training colleges and Technicons were closed, why? The pass rate was a low 42% and not sure if all schools education is on a high standard excepted international. Looking at some schools in the U S , Australia and UK compared to ours looks bleak.

  2. Yes definitely, credit must be given to the Minister of education. To manipulate stats at that level takes some doing. But then old “BBB” rule applies – Bullsh!t Baffles Brains

  3. Hi Ma’am Angie welldone i am so happy we are the south africans we are happy people because of your input in our schools. But also we need help from you we are voluntary providing computer literacy for school learners no one helping us even with funds we are volunteering with empty stomach but our job is the best because we are helping not looking for profit making but the big company provid money to big company who are profit making money someone out there must help us please .

  4. Ashley A.Eaton says

You can bulldust all the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time……………..this is so applicable to the South Africa of today………and the Pinko-Libs well ! ! !

  5. Collitjies says

Obviously with a manipulated pass requirement lowered to below the rest of the world our figures look good to Africa and only AFRICA. We are creating more and more morons who are actually unemployable.

  6. pietpompies says

Looking at the percentage requirement to pass matric students should only require to go to classes about twenty four weeks a year! We must be the laughing stock of the world.

  7. We can express our feelings and opinions as much as we like , this will not change the rulers of our day, they are spiritually deaf, blind and dumb. We should all look up to where our real help is from , our only help is from GOD the creator and ruler of Heaven and earth. The LORD is surely showing HIS power and confirming HIS Word of the time we are living in. Floods, volcanic eruptions, tsunami’s, earthquakes and new sicknesses. I am so glad I belong to HIM so none of this evil doings will have any effect on me and all those who have chosen to serve the LORD. God bless you all by opening your spiritual eyes and ears so you may all see and taste the Joy and Glory of the LORD!!

  8. @pietpompies
We are already – what’s changed?

  9. I pity the “class of 2010” our kids have been duped, the results have been “fixed”
    by Mrs.Motshekge & Co

  10. The Education departments are presently busy trying to root out the “ghost teachers” who do not exist, but who have been paid salaries for years! How on earth can it be expected of ‘them’ to implement a better schooling system than the failed OBE, if they cannot even maintain a true list of the people that work for the DoE?
This happened under Naledi ‘the-queen-of-waffling’ Pandor’s watch, and is strongly continuing under poor Angie’s care.
Lowering the standards did NOT improve the situation much, hey? If one extrapolates the current criteria for passing matric back to 2005, you will find it has plummeted. There simply is not enough SKILL nor WILL to turn this around. It should be seen as a CRIME against the PEOPLE of South Africa.

  11. I wonder how many of the bozos in government would pass the current grade 12 exams? My domestic has an ‘apartheid’ Std 6 (grade 8) and she is super literate compared to her children with ‘freedom’ matric.
And she has loads more common sense too.
Somebody still has to explain why this freedom government could not just carry on with the previous system. Why did they first have to break everything that was working? Not only education, but also health care, transport (railways), etc. They may be free but most are still dom. Dom enough to vote for this government again and again and again.

  12. stats can produce any result you want if you are inclined to use them for your own ends. If you look at these matric figures a student need 34.28% to pass. The scary part is, is that he does not need to know 65.72% of what is required. Remember from here he either goes on to study ???? further or tries to get into the job market. Now we know where the politicians and gov employees come from.

  13. TINOMUZIVASHE RAMBUWANI says

The used pass of 30% is bad news. Injecting these graduands of 30% in the economic world to compete with those who are considered to have passed with a minimum of 80% where they take only the cream is honestly uncomparable. South Africa is seating on a time bomb which once blown the damage will be irrepairable. Something must be done at the earliest moment.

  14. Lets cut the bullshit people. Can’t anyone see through this trumpted-up matric results for 2010. Angies bullshit can’t baffles our brains any longer.

  15. a-maize-ingly corn-y says

para 2 line 5 – what are “mEtrics” ? Are they Efrican mAtrics ? Or are they the rejects of the Imperial system ?
With all this controversy, the nation (not the politicians) should consider switching to an international (and internationally recognised) syllabus and examination system. (Let’s face it – South African politicians, these days, do not consider anything – unless there is something in it for them!)
The Cambridge Overseas Examinations Council has been the standard in almost all of English-speaking Africa and the vast majority of Africa’s professional people (and quite a few South Africans) as well as such people as Seretse Khama went through this system and were able to enter some of the world’s most prestigious universities without having a local “degree” first.
AND – believe this or not – the South African HSRC considers this qualification to be the equivalent of “Standard 9” or Grade 11 in newSAspeak !!!
Educationally, don’t ask what the world is coming to – ask when South Africa will come to the world.

  16. Oh my God.Is that the state of affairs in this country.no wonder government departments have become war zones. We the general public want to just kill the stupid, incompetent idiots that work there.

  17. The arithmetic I learned said an increase of 60.6% to 67.8% was an increase of about 11.9%. But then all those who helped while the teachers were toy-toying must have been dedicated and might just have taught more in a month than the “teachers” (edumacaters?) do in a year. The bottom line is so long as we have a government that rewards mediocracy and favours bringing the nation down to the lowest possible denominator (wekkers are all =) then this country is sunk. Imagine our docters passing with 30%! How on earth can they create jobs when the “go-getters” are paralysed.

  18. To you all:
Why do you all care how pupils pass their matric, what is matric anyway in this country anymore, I know of so many people who had their lives set back because they did not have matric whereas they could do anything that a person who passed matric could do.
I am actually thinking of people who passed their degrees but are unable to find jobs because they do not have enough experience to do the job.
Then what is the point of having UMALUSI delaying you while it knows you will not use that paper even if you get it legitimately, thumbs up to all those involved, at least they don’t have to waist poor kids’s time because of a stupid matric. I failed matric three times, I am doing better than those who passed it first time they did it, makes you think uh.

  19. Manthata. I suppose the guy who, say, takes your appendix out need not even have a matric

  20. bakenshark says

funny cartoon wonkie!…and oh so true for so many places in the world these days!..income based education could also mean..you pass if your daddy has a high income ;-))

  21. This government`s genocidal attitude towards the blacks of thi country is what led to high rate of dropouts and failres bcause it knows theproblems and that its it that must solve them {not teachers and parents}and it is avoiding them by blaming everybody else but it!

The problem re now even bing used by black scribes who are mentally bankrupt by not thinking of topics to generate their income by just treating this problem as a topic for debate!gangsterim is the cause of all ills an woes at blck and coloured schools!Parents are identified and intimidatd and harrassed at their work places so they don`t have the balls to defend their kids against what we`re told its bullying and so the poor kids are at the mercy of these gangs!During my years as a teenager parents fought gangsterism by domineering, controlling and ruling their children but also collaborated with teacher, social wokers and police and this led to the isolation of gangs because parents prevented their children from gang company. The task of the police was to take difficult hildren to reformatroy schools with the consent of parents, teachers and social workers and no to spnk!

  22. It is really sad that we have to resort to the manipulation of statistics in order to look good to the public. The truth ALWAYS comes out- one way or another. So who are they fooling really? This is a complete disgrace! I hope and pray that we can have people of integrity and character in our leading positions, people who will not compromise the truth just so they can look good, people who will say, “if they fail let them fail, but we are not lowering the standards!!!” The further along this line we drift, the worse our country will be.

  23. ANGIE MIGHT BE TRYING TO BE THE FOCAL POINT BY BLOWING THINGS OUT OF PROPRTION, I MEAN WITH ALL THE EVENTS WHICH TOOK PLACE LAST YEAR HOW ON EARTH DID THEY TURN AROUND COME UP WITH SUCH A RESULTS..NOT UNLESS THEY GIVEN A FIXED PERCENTAGE ACROSS THE BOARD FOR ALL THE STUDENTS, THAT IS WHY OTHERS WERE SHOCKED TO FIND THEMSELVES AMONGST THOSE WHO PASSED….WELL OUR OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION HAS GOT MIRACLES..NO WONDER WHY PARENTS ARE PULLING OUT THEIR CHILDREN FROM GOVRNMENT SCHOOLS..BECAUSE IT SUCKS..MAYBE AVERAGE BASED EDUCATION WILL DO BETTER THAN THE INCOME/OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION.

  24. @Madoda
do you remember that doctor who saved peoples lives by making illegal operations, he did not need a paper to do that.
@Tim, Do you believe in evolution or creation, that is if there is a difference, Let me start by saying, we have had so many changes in life from when you were born up to today.
This changes come naturally, the way you think, the way you behave, the way you learn things, the way you view life.
whether we like it or not, today’s generation is very different from our generation, life will not treat them as it did to us. therefore nature will have to dictate the way they approach life. we were taught that passing matric is the first step towards a better life and education. we did not really need money that much to do everyday chores. ( remember we used to buy amakip-kip using just an old empty glass bottle ), they need money to do that.
Our kids need more than just matrc, they need an education, we have to stop assuming that when a child passes matric is brilliant, kids need an education these days, not matric. actually passing matric should just be a bonus for them. they need knowledge to face the type of life they are faced with in their future. actually the government should be setting up centres to teach these kids life’s challenges of these days.

  25. I do not see a problem in letting pupils to pass, at least they have toched the first step towards their education.
I challeng one single university to take a standard nine child and admit him to an institution of higher learning and see if that child will not pass a degree because he does not have matric.
remember their mental activity is far much better than ours, these children are giving birth at 14 yrs, why wais their time

  26. i beg to differ with you Manthata, giving birth @ 14 does not make you a better person but an irresponsible person with a bad upbringinging that deceives you that whatever you see on a telly must be emulated, well with grade 10 (std 9)one can study at an FET institution and do technical studies.

  27. a-maize-ingly corn-y says

    To Manthata:
Didn’t you know that UMALUSI is just the new way to spell OUMA LUCY – and she ALWAYS gave out the most lekkers!!!

  28. Manthata Jan 18, I forwarded this comment to our neighbors who are currently visiting Australia, here is their comment they asked me to reply with.
We keep telling the Ozzies that S.A standard of education is the highest in the world, a matric certificate equals Post graduate studies that qualifies you for any job in the world. Passing grade 5 (std 3) you know enough to qualify to become state president.

  29. HEY BLACK PEOPLE OF SOUTH AFRICA STOP TURNING ILLS AND WOES INTO MERE DEBATES BUT IDENTIFY PROBLEMS AND FIND SOLUTIONS WHICH MUST THEN BE THEFOCUS OF DEBATE AND NOT DWELL ON THE PROBLEM DEBATING IT!

tHERE`S A PROBLEM HERE AND IT NEEDS SOLUTIONS AND WHAT ARE YOUR SOLUTIONS?YOU`RE ON ABOUT HELPING YOUR CHILDREN WITH HOMWORK OR SPOILING THEM AND IN SO DOING AVOIDING THE PROBLEM!

  30. Hi Tim, you are so right. I am a black scholar and would like to be in the teaching profession, my vision and mission is when I qualify to run an after care centre for scholars based on Biblical principles. In that way I can teach the children what is the right way to live and warn them against the wrong and evil consequences. The true current solution is to vote for rulers who are fair and not corrupted in any ways but strive to correct the current wrongs. When corrupted people are in ruling positions its effect can sink the whole country and that must be eliminated before it becomes so serious that there are no more funds to maintain a decent living for all. The solution is to get rid of all the corrupted officials and rulers and vote in people who care about all the citizens, treat all fair and just, bring back the death sentence for criminals who commit serious crimes thus ensuring that the jails are not overcrowded and the innocent citizens are protected against the evil doers. Next year I will come of age to vote and in that manner may be able to make a difference. We do not do anything unless we have consulted the LORD and follow the way HE leads us. This is the best way of making a difference following the way that the LORD leads us.

  31. as an individual ou cn`t tackle community issues but has to be a part of the afflicted community to tckle their issues with them.

black people need to tart from start rebuilding their roots and family fabrics of lif and social fibres to start with!

  32. We have to start by not leaning on our own understanding but to do GOD”S will, if my family were not serving the Lord but idols why should I follow them to hell. What is of extreme importance is: One person with GOD is by far in the majority and that is the only way I want my life to be. With HIM HE will ensure that all my works according to HIS will shall be accomplished. This is guaranteed no matter what any other human says it can not make GOD less real.

  33. @Tim and Zozo

Dream on!!!!, I made it clear that this is a new world, you two are living in a peri-pheri within a peri-pheri, come on, go out there, explore life, see how it is, you not gonna change it, trying to change it will make things worse. look around yourselves, some people changed the world, the world is now responding.
I can not understand why you people try to differentiate between GOD and NATURE, this two are self controlling, that makes them one.

And to you Tim, you are so obsessed with calling Africans blacks, africans have the colour of the soil, that shows you we are from nature, we have been created by nature, hence nature loves us.

  34. Manthata, God created nature and is going to destroy this world and create a new one for HIS children. Look at Genesis: The earth was covered in water and GOD (the big bang theory) brought the earth to surface and the oceans were created. Look at a world map and it is very distinct that the countries were once in a ball underneath the waters, they all fit in perfectly.
I suggest that you do what GOD tells us too. “Seek ME with all your heart and you will find me.” To have a personal relationship with the LORD is the best that can happen to anybody. Again I mention read Luke 21 lots of famine, earthquacks, floods, eruptions, tsunamis, strange sicknesses, pests etc. If this is not GOD talking then who is? Those who serve HIM will be protected against most of this famine.

  35. > Mangcu and all these black intellectuals are enterprising
    > lot and not blacks!Theirs its to make money out of black
    > ills and woes like the education debacle and never tackle
    > problems with the intention of finding solutions! You cannot be a part of a community and nation while you`re tucked faraway from them and only remember them when you want to satisfy yourself!

Jordaan should be the last to call himself black or African since its a well documented factorthat these rulers are western africans hence all their business is influenced an informed by westerners.Surely as an african his priority after taking-up office should have been to africanise by encouraging african languages and dress take precedent stage in all or institutions.

Biko has now become the tool of these self-proclaimed “smart-alec”Africans charlatans to popularise, aggrandise and enrich themselves since its a well documented factor that jordaan and his cronies and pals are aggrieved and transgressed by the mentiobn of the word”biko”

  36. Clearly africa does not have a clue what education/schools/varsity are all about…if you have striking teachers who only have a matric themselves and not able to teach, a bunch of brainless snails who can’t pass, you just give them a couple of points to make them pass…..or lower the pass rate…or use both; lower the pass rate AND give a couple of free points and the problem is solved “African Style”!

To solve the employability and economic upliftment problem of the halfbread products the education system produce, you enforce affirmative action and the problem is solved “African Style”!

En, as die droll in die drinkwater dryf, blame apartheid!

  37. @Zozo
You agree with everything I said, God and Nature is one. they talk to you in a language that no one understands, but sees.

  38. The downfall of many was worshipping ancestoral spirits and that is exactly what GOD forbids in Leviticus 20- v6 “If anyone goes for advice to people who consult the spirits of the dead, I will turn against him and will no longer consider him one of my people” God says that and HE means it. Yet I am sure God loves South Africa and has a major plan for us in these last days.

  39. Manthata,

Nature is just part of God’s creation!

Secondly, Manthata, If nature was so much in love with africans, how come nature seems to be against all that is african? Do you see poverty, hunger, pests, floods/draught, crime as nature’s way to manifest it’s love towards a people? You must be african for sure, as africans seem to perceive/understand everything the wrong way round!

Like ZOZO said, ancestor worship is one of the reasons africa is always backwards – how can one move forward if you are for ever looking backwards into the past for answers? He who walk forward while looking backwards will NOT see the hole in front and WILL fall into it!

Now this is the problem with our new “african style” education system…giving an idiot a few marks to make him/her look/feel better WILL plunge the country into the hole of non-delivery we presently have!
It’s a bunch of poor short sighted, sorry, I mean backward-looking-ancestor-worshipping-in-the-longdrop-falling fools africans choose to be their “leaddazz”!

Lastly, my God speaks to me using AFRIKAANS and I do understand AFRIKAANS….it’s that nature-god you have who speaks a lingo not even it’s foolish worshippers understand because they find themselves in the long-drop!

The hue of the shit in the long-drop and the soil are very similar…have to mention that your one observation almost hit the target! 😉

  40. Whatever you do in life there are three possible outcomes and they all have trade offs, the so called double edged sword. Depending on your current perception things will
    1 get better
    2 stay the same
    3 get worse
Sadly politicians will promis “1” even if they know “3” is the reality. I would hate to have a matric certificate that has 2010 on it

  41. passing rate is will improved in South Africa but in rural areas standard of education is because of learners didnt receive study materials in time and luck of experienced educators.

  42. Madoba,

Those three outcomes are applicable in africa only where a gambling spirit rules!

In the white man’s world we plan what we do ahead and know the outcome before we start. Do you see new planes or motor cars being built and then we go see what the outcome is going to be? Better or the same or worse? No we plan ahead and know the outcome before we even start doing anything else!

The politicians of today have no idea what the outcome of the smallest issue would be, that’s why they changed everthing that worked before just to return to them sometime in the future after they tried all other ways that did not work – desperate/hoping to proof that there is something somewhere out there that the blackman found a better way of doing it…… ok, being corrupt is something where the black man outperform the whiteman completely, that I have to admit.

  43. Haiboo!!!!!!!! So she thinks raising the number of matriculants and dropping the standard is acceptable? In not so many words quantity is better than quality. Bravo!! She must now create jobs for them

  44. it is now an exepted norm to hear all the lies we are programed for the last 15 years how about zoema giving away a few million and they have no money for education

  45. Dirk. the appetite government had over 40 years to carefully plan and implement a disaster. They stuffed up this country big time. But unlike Tim, I am not that anti the whiteys. My ancestors lived in harmony with nature and nature controlled our numbers. Then the colonialists came with their education, and medicine that works. Now we fornicate ourselves into poverty having children we can’t feeed, clothe or educate and we blame it on the whiteys. Work out how many new schools have to be built just to cope with the new intake this year to say nothing of all the teachers. Then we say we have inferior education. Sure, its better than we created for ourselves. Then we complain about the quality of education at private schools. Private schools all over the world are better than government schools. But now we stuff up what we took over in 1994 and complain about that. When I walk down the street I have to marvel at what the whitey’s ingenuity and the black man’s labour have achieved. But I can’t see what the black man’s ingenuity and the white man’s labour have achieved

  46. But unlike Tim, I am not that anti the whiteys.YOU ARE TALKING BLL MADOBA AND I`M NOT GOING TO ENGG ON THAT ONE NOR ON ANY TOPICS BECAUE OU ARE A LOST GNRATION WITH NO CAUSE ,IDENTITY OR DIRECTION IN LFE HAT`S WH OU`RE RUNNING AWAY FROM EACH OTHETO WHITS.

School results, just read in todays Star again how many girls pregnant in school, kind of makes one wonder what they are taught. Social responsibility is obviously a subject unknown to the majority it has dissappeared in our country. Maybe the government should start handing out birthcontrol tablets to all the girls as it will be cheaper then paying out social grants to pregnant girls already receiving social grants themselves. Wow in 1905 they were 5.2 million in the year 2005 they are 45 million. this should tell what their prime interests are. This calls for more then pity as it is far beyond ignorance.

  48. Then there is the issue that only 60% of learners who started school 12 years ago, wrote their matric last year. (At least that is what the newspapers said; and with alll the mistakes recently made, we all know it is risky to say I read it in the paper). Anyway, that would mean 67% of the 60% who got to matric, passed! Hardly something to get breathless about!

  49. ITS NOT WORTH DEBATING THIS ISSUE BEC AUSE INFORMATION AT MY DISPOSAL REVEAL THAT THIS GOVERNMENT IS IN CAHOOTS WITH THE ENEMY TO ANNIHILATE LACKS OF THIS COUNTRY BY DESTROYING THE YOUTH SO THAT AS THE ADULTS PASSED ON THERE MUST BE NO ROOTS.

THEY KNOW GANGSTERISM IS THE MAIN ROOT CAUSE BUT CHOOSE TO FIGHT IT ONLY AT AFRIKANER DOMINEERED SCHOOLS BY DEPLOYING GUARDS AND CHASING AWAY EVERY BLACK SAUNTERING OR HAWKING N THE SCHOOL`S VICINITY AND NOT IN BLACK SCHOOLS

  50. Hi Tim Would you like to write that in a language I (and perhaps others) can understand. I am sorry I am not as clever as you but I try

  51. Ya neh, we can talk and talk about the problem lies with Ministers advisors and protecting political agenda on the expense of people or learners in this instance

  52. JAA,WHITES HOOKED-UP WITH THE NOTORIOU PRISON-GANG KNOWN AS THE 26 WHOM TODAY ARE TELLING US ITS CAR-GUARDS,RUNAWAY,HOMELESS AND JOBLESS TO GANGSTERISE THE ENTIRE BLACK POPULATION OF THIS COUNTRY WITH THE AIM OF ANNIHILATING AND DESTROYING US SO THAT IN FEW YEARS TO COME THERE MUST BE NO BLACKS IN THIS COUNTRY BUT GANGSTERS!

WERE YOU TESTING ME TO CHECK AS TO ARE AN BLACKS WHO IS AWARE OF YOUR MISSION TOTHIS COUNTRY!THAT`S WHY THESE WHITES ARE FIGHTING HARD FOR YOU TO BE IN THIS COUNTRY SO THAT YOU CAN COMPLETE YOUR MISSION.O CARS,SHOPS,HOUSES ARE GRABBED FROM US BY THESE ZIMBABWEANS AND NOW THEY ARE TARGETTING EGYPTIANS,PAKISTANIS,BANGLADESHI AND PALESTINIANS COHORTING THEM TO BE ANTI US AND TO ROB US IN THESE SYNDICATE SUPERMARKETS OF THEM!

  54. Hi Tim. Would you like to try Swahili. Just pole pole. Maybe English speakers don’t understand you.

  55. heey-old fashion get outta here because if it is hate in the true sense of th word i has something to do wi th sorrounding of our house as we were about to prepare or dinner in 1970 by heavily armed white men in landrovers and the subsequent carting-off to a waiting truck and straight to the rural areas from the Western Cape, the sight of whites transgressing blacks taking advantage of their powerful ,privileged and advantageous stance against the powerless, underprivileged and disadvantaged.

Somthing to Do with the fatal attack on me by the hillbrow white gangs that were terrorising joburg and its flatlands which left me semi-paralysed and amputated and the war ZILLE AND COMPANY WAGED AGAINST ME IN THE WESTERN CAPE AFTER WAS EXPOSE TO THEIR MIDNIGHT TRIPS IN POLICE CASSPIRS TO THE TOWNSHIPS TO O COLLECT THEIR PRIVATE ARMY AND GO ATTACK COMRADES AND THE CLOSURE OF MY PRODUCTION COMPANY IN JOBUG BY JEALOUS WHITE SKIN-HEADS WHO THOUGHT ONLY WHITES SHOULD OWN PRODUCTION COMPANIES AND NOT BLACKS AND THE SUBSEQUENT RESISTANCE OF WHITES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THESE PAINS,WOUNDS AND SUFFERING THEY CAUSE AND REFUSE TO RECONCILE AND HEAL

Tim, I was fully aware what had happened in your past, thus the reason for all your statements. We feel with you and is gratefull that your life has been spared. We certainly condemn anybody with such actions regardless of what their skin colour is. God despises that and so should we. These were some of the reasons why we never use to vote, as Gods tells us to love our enemies, pray for them and shower them with love as HE is the judge and HE will let perpetrators carry the consequences of their actions. On their behalf I take the liberty to apologise and ask you for forgiveness as they did not know what they were doing. If people know the consequences of such severe action that GOD takes note and does not leave it unpunished, they would not have done it. Please except these apologies, forgive them as the LORD says we must forgive in the same manner as HE forgives us, you will see that GOD will reward you and give you back seven fold for every loss you suffered. My hope and trust is in the LORD that HE will touch and reveal HIMSELF to you.

  58. Tim. Helen Zille and her predecessors fought appetite. Get your facts straight. Shake your head your eyes are stuck. But OLD FASHION the lord is a figment of imagination who cannot understand science. Religion is discredited and only used to explain what we, as yet do not understand

  59. OLD FASHION says

Madoba you are so right , even the LORD hates religion but loves HIS children who has a personal relationship with HIM. As far as imagination is concerned it is rather strange that our prayers are always answered. True are the words of the LORD they have eyes and ears, yet they are blind and deaf as they can not see the works or hear the voice of the LORD

  60. madoba i said i don`t want to talk to you because you are an agent provocateur, saboteur for your masters like bennet and verryn.

old fashion i have my own religion in the form of my spiritual beliefs and all that i do i`m guided by them!the fact that i let-bygones be bygones then its obvious that i forgave them however the question is;have they stopped their brutalities and the lack of reconiliation commitment by whites of this country shows hat wherever they are they have never reconciled

  61. CAN SOMEBODY GET TIM OF THIS BLOG

  62. This is now no longer about education, Tim and manthata are discussing somthing else. The fact of the matter is that the education standard is below par, and this is a matter of concern. How best can we assist our children to be self sufficient and independant, look Zim dispite its election and government challenges, it has produced quality academics, why not us

  63. GET YOUR MOTHER`S BEHINDS AND YOUR ASS OFF THIS BLOG…ASSHOLE!

OLD FASHION!I`M PRE-SUPPOSED YOU TALK ABOUT THE GOD THAT INFORMED AND GUIDED THE PREVIOUS RULERS IN THEIR HEREDITARY RULE AND IF THAT`S THE CASE THEN I AM NOT WITH YOU!THE GOD THAT PUSHED YOU TO UNDERDEVELOP AND IMPOVERISH OTHER HUMANS THEN I AM BETTER-OFF WITHOUT A GOD BECAUSE THAT`S AN OCCULT GOD NOT A SPIRITUALLY ENRICHING GOD.

  64. Shame Tim. I am sure we all feel sorry for you and whatever it is that eats you

  65. feel sorry for yourself as the world is doing due to your failure to rule the countries you inheritted from whites and instead run after whites and embark on gossip like mother grundies in a coffee shop and contribute fuckall to development and growth!you called for sanctions against your own country and subsequently flee to other countries telling them you are coming to help them but you have nothing to show as all those zimbabwean in south africa were gardners and security guards and learn skill and education in south africa! those ndoros and matez worked as gardners while shouting we zimbabwean are educated and better than them and were taught what they know now by us the blacks they said are stupid!get sucked, bstards!WALK!MARCH!

  66. madoba

I like you more and more all the time…don’t worry about TIM, he is not actually trying to say something ..just testing his keybord 😉

  67. go to your doomsday christianity and woodville!

  68. TIM,

Looks like your “Caps LocK” key is the one not working properly…I see once you in lower case you stay there 😉

  69. Capital K, capital A and capital K added together can be fun!

  70. Blade Nsimande (spelling?) stated in parliament-paraphased- ” whities said that “DARKIES” couldnt get good matric pass rate, and weve shown them !”
He is responsiblw for tertiary education in the country, and the bulk of university entrants cannot handle first year maths or physics. Small wonder there is a skills shortage

  71. Gnome

There is a skills shortage just because the ones who do have the skills naturally are not allowed to get the jobs..it’s all in the name of “affirmative action” and adding a couple of points to get the matric result you desire is also in the name of “affirmative Action”….it’s like somebody playing Sudoku with himself that go look what the correct answer is in the back of the book before starting….and then be very pleased with himself because he got it right the first “try” 😉

  72. Is this government or private schooling please delete this article because it is wrong.
A minimum of 50% is required for home language (english).
    Math’s a 33% is a pass.
Only one subject of the 3 chosen for matric may get less than 50% the others require 50% plus.

The statistic may be wrong on what ‘formal job’ people might be doing by the age of 24.

Some students may be unaware of what they want to do, so they take a gap, therefor they will be studying later.
Some students could be studying degrees which take over 5 years to complete.
-In south africa, sadly, if you don’t have the experience you don’t get the job, in most cases.

  73. I say it gives ppl that do not have a matric to get a chance ,to obtain a matric .So 30i%i it is!!!
